250+ posts and counting

Hello! We have a number of posts scheduled to go live beginning May 2012 recounting the events of the War of 1812 as they happened, or as the public became aware of them. Sometimes these two dates were vastly different.

So far, a number of institutions have agreed to partner up to provide you with what will be one of the most unique resources for the War of 1812 bicentennial. Spearheaded by The Hermitage, Home of President Andrew Jackson, the following institutions will be adding a running diary of events and publications:

Ashland: The Henry Clay Estate (Lexington, Kentucky)
Detroit Historical Society (Detroit, Michigan)
James Madison's Montpelier (Orange, Virginia)
Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum (St. Leonard, Maryland)
Ohio Historical Society

There will be posts from the National Intelligencer and Niles' Weekly Register (and other newspapers) to give you, the reader, insight into regional reaction and the day-to-day progress of the War of 1812.
